Job Purpose
As a Baggage Services Agent, you will be responsible for managing baggage-related tasks at Dubai World Central (DWC) while adhering to dnata’s strict safety and operational guidelines. Your role will ensure that service quality remains optimal and that all baggage is handled efficiently for passengers and airlines.
Generic Accountabilities
In this role, you will:
- Ensure the safety of all staff by providing clear direction and equal workload distribution. As a role model, you will lead by example, demonstrating desired safety behaviors and conducting regular safety briefings at the start of each shift.
- Organize the work under your accountability to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with dnata’s operational standards.
- Communicate responsibilities to Outsource teams, ensuring they meet service-level agreements (SLAs) on the day of operations.
- Take immediate corrective action when safety risks are identified and follow up on necessary adjustments.
Specific Responsibilities
- Escalate issues to the Supervisor when necessary, ensuring proper corrective actions are taken.
- Assist with manual baggage handling activities when required.
- Brief your team on their duties and responsibilities, providing feedback on their performance.
- Ensure all necessary baggage handling activities, such as sortation and offloading, are completed on time and meet operational requirements.
- Assist with departure baggage handling to ensure smooth processing.
- Oversee the implementation of work instructions and compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Maintain operational systems and equipment, and report any malfunctions or breakdowns for immediate resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for each shift in the assigned area.
- Coordinate with Ground Operations to ensure seamless baggage handling and operational flow.
Qualifications & Experience
To be eligible for the role of Baggage Services Agent, you need the following:
- A high school certificate.
- 2-4 years of experience in business administration, aviation, ground handling, or customer service.
- UAE Driving License or Home Country Driving License.
- Proficiency in English, with strong communication skills.
